Irvin took an early interest in art such that he was always "that kid who could draw" in every classroom he's ever been in. And while his early graphite-on-desktop masterpieces did not endear him to his teachers, they did help him to become the versitile artist he is today, comfortable using any medium and equally able to produce concept art, illustration, comics and storyboards. Irvin also teaches art classes for children where drawing on the desks is encouraged.

He likes to post pictures he takes on Flickr here, including a recent trip to Providence, RI where he took an H.P. Lovecraft walking tour and went to the Rhode Island School of Design Museum of Art.
